Originally called the Jump Man, Mario first appeared in 1981 in Donkey Kong. It was an instant success that encouraged its creators, Nintendo, to release an arcade game called as Marion Bros that included Mario and his brother Luigi, which too was great success.
Mario is an Italian plumber who fights his arch rival, the evil bowser who happens to be the king of koopas, to save the princess Toadstool. When Mario and luigi are played in the two player mode, the fearless brother of Mario, Luigi, helps him in his adventures.
Luigi has gained popularity due to his distinct personality with surprising moments where he stands on his own. Mario and Luigi have to beat the enemies to complete eight levels and take control of them which is a mushroom kingdom. The princess is in the eighth level and Mario, will be able to see her only after clearing the seven levels successfully.
There are slightly different versions of Mario and Luigi games in the name of Super Mario Bros. Here, the initial stages appear almost similar, but the later stages are completely different. These changes have made Super Mario Bros more difficult than the original game.
In the Super Mario Bros game, the player can see what is happening above and below him by pressing the up and down key and the players can also simultaneously play as Mario and Luigi, select the map screen. Also, players can also play online with their friends as Mario and Luigi in multiplayer mode.
